Admission Procedure

Selection Process
The Selection for the admission shall be strictly on the basis of the merit of the candidate as stated above. The entire responsibility of the admission lies with the principal / admission committee, however it will be done strictly on the norms specified.

Documents required for the Admission
  1. Application Form
  2. Medical Certificate in the prescribed format
  3. Marksheet of the Qualifying Examination in original
  4. School / College / Institute Leaving Certificate in original
  5. Certificate of Date of Birth if not mentioned in Leaving Certificate
  6. Marksheet of 8 and 9 / Proforma Z
  7. Migration Certificate (OMS)
  8. Gap Certificate if necessary
  9. Caste Certificate
  10. Non Creamy layer
  11. Four attested copies of each documents

Applications for admission to Pillai Polytechnic will be available in the Polytechnic office which should be duly filled and submitted in the office of the Principal on or before prescribed date and time as advertised by the institute in the leading newspaper Applications received after due date will not be considered.

Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fees
Refund of tuition fee, development and other fees after cancellation of admission, shall be as per AICTE Guidelines No. AICTE/Legal/04(01)/2007, April 2007 and Circular No. 698 dtd 24/8/2007 issued by Pravesh Niyantran Samithi, Mumbai. Candidate who has been admitted may cancel admission by submitting an application in duplicate, in the Prescribed proforma - M, may request for refund of fees. The refund of fees as applicable shall be made in due course. It is made clear that such application for cancellations will be considered if and only if the admission is confirmed by paying the prescribed tuition fee and other fees in full and by submitting the original documents. Refund shall be made after deduction of cancellation charges as shown below.

Request received after the start of Academic session and seat could be filled by the institute before the cutoff date Entire fee less the total fee on Pro rata basis. (Tuition, development, other and hostel fee)
Request received before / after the start of Academic session and seat could not be filled by the institute after cutoff date. No refund (except security deposit)

General Rules
  • The students are requested to be polite to the faculty, staff members and to each other.
  • Students should maintain high standard of cleanness in the campus.
  • Students are not allowed to use radios, transistors, taperecorders or mobile phone in the campus and the institute is not responsible for any loss of the above mentioned property.
  • Severe penalty will be imposed if the students are found mishandling the furniture or equipment or causing damage to the building or property of the Institute.
  • All the students are required to wear the identity card in the college campus. A fine of Rs. 100/- will be charged for not following the rule. A duplicate identity card will be available on payment of Rs.100/-.

  • Full attendance for theory and practical classes are compulsory. In case of some unavoidable circumstances 25% relaxation will be considered if the student is granted per mission from the principal.
  • If a student is absent on a particular working day / theory class / laboratory / workshop, the student will have to submit a leave letter signed by the guardian.
  • If the leave is taken due to sickness the medical certificate should be submitted.
  • If the student fails to maintain minimum attendance as mentioned by the Board he may be detained from the course.
  • If a student is absent for any theory (PT 1 and PT 2) or practical term (PST) exam no chance will be given for reappearing the exam.
  • If a student is absent for a practical or workshop, the marks calculated for that practical / workshop will not be allotted to the student.
